Merry Christmas 2017

I don’t normally do Christmas posts because they tend to come off rather trite and self-absorbed. However, this has been one of my hardest years practice-wise, which is why I haven’t posted all that much. I will discuss the roadblocks I faced and how I overcame them in another post. The following contributors however were instrumental in my moving forward and I’d like to thank them personally.

LuminousBliss – For introducing me to “awareness watching awareness”, also known as the “I-feeling” meditation (amongst other names). This really started for me with this lively conversation in one of the comments threads. The “I-feeling” is the only meditation which has solved various problems I have been having for years but which became far worse this last year. I intend to write up the whole experience and how the I-feeling manifested the solutions to these problems soon. LB’s excellent blog is here, also containing jhana tech for anyone interested in that:

Arpan – For your encyclopaedic knowledge of scripture and other resources, backed up by practice. You are always on-point and ready to post something relevant and you have given me the info I need on countless occasions.

Mayath – For continuing to keep us updated with your progress along the spiritual path, particularly via the book The Mind Illuminated, such as in this inspiring post. It’s pretty amazing to think someone can pick up a book then a year or two later be a completely different person. It’s very encouraging for newcomers, too.

James a.k.a. WetWaterDrop – A special mention for moderating our forum, making newcomers feel welcome and answering basic questions, and for your general contribution. Thanks!

To everyone else, thank you very much for being here. We have had some absolutely superb conversations this last year, particularly on the comments threads of virtually every post. There are nuggets of gold throughout so, if you haven’t already, give them a browse.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Glad I could be of service and thanks for patiently answering our numerous queries, sharing insights won by sheer force of a persistent will.
Your unending unflagging quest to solve problems of inner dimension afflicting you and people in general, breathes into me a sense of comradeship that few people can rival.
May you be capable of ever greater service to the planet. Merry Christmas! 🙂

    Merry crimmas!

Hey I’ve heard the new Star Wars described as an “absolute cuckfest,” any chance you will do a scathing review like you did last time? Or is it just redundant at this point?

    • Illuminatus says:

I’m in two minds whether to see it or not. Blackdragon’s review confirmed what I assumed it to be. The Star Wars saga ended for me when I saw The Force Awakens. It’s just nonsense now.

I don’t recognize the prequels as canon either because they were rubbish. I liked Rogue One, though. So that means there are only four Star Wars films I consider genuine.

      • Pat says:

The prequels had their issues, but at least they didn’t have all the sjw crap that was in TFA (and I expect is in TLJ.) Then again, I was 13 when the last prequel came out, so everything seemed better back then.

  4. James says:

    I hadn’t seen it either… but I just read BD’s review… ouch.

I started losing interest in starwars at return of the jedi (even though It’s my favorite of the films)… the teddy bears and second death star really toed the line.

  5. Ho Ho Ho! marrry christmas!~ marry christmas!~!~!~~
