So the other day I did a small 5 minute concentration meditation at about 10 am.

Nightime rollllls around, as it tends to for all of us, I go to lay down... about two hours later I feel "it" the come up, I sit up, reality starts turning 2d and the "thinness" sensation appears...

I just, accept into it, and go "well, if it's time it's time".

So the moment passes, I lay down and go to sleep...

I'm asleep but very aware, and in the dream scape Real estate tycoon Grant Cardone pops up with a sledge hammer, and slams the ground with it - at which point I blip out of reality for what seems like a few seconds, and am all of sudden I'm just laying down wide awake.

Cool story.

Genuine phasing out of reality (Fruition/Cessation) is EXTREMELY blissful, as ALL suffering disappears (till it reappears a moment later, sadly). It is the highest bliss available on the Path (well, the highest I have ever known).

Are you getting this "come-up" every night??

For the most part the come-up only occurs if I do concentration meditation during the day.

I had it happen really really strong when I was working a closing shift at work a few weeks (with not prior meditation), I just went to the bathroom, sat on the stall and did my best to accept the fact that this was it.

The come-up feels exactly like what lsd feels like when it kicks in.

I'm taking the Bhuta Shuddhi class taught by the Isha foundation today... On one of my micro dose LSD experiences I cleaned one of my chakras and felt 100% totally grounded/in my body (where even now I experience mild dissociation as being normal).

So I'm thinking there is something to the chakra/elements thing and I'll find out through first hand experience.

I've had a suspicion that a lot of my meditative problems have been due to bad "energy" in my nervous system (or maybe even subtler systems).

So, during a mushroom trip (my first, actually) I gained the insight that in order to be more grounded... I should eat roots.

So I've been eating raw yams and sweet potatoes and well... It seems to be working.

I had bad anxiety today.. the kind of "will I be phasing out of creation later tonight" kind... I located the energy in my gut (below the navel)... examined it, I couldn't really "penetrate" it, as it were... but I just spontaneously said "This energy, is not me" and it dissipated immediately.

I recommend switching immediately to meditating on the am-feeling and resting in your nature as infinite eternal unbounded luminous divine love-bliss.

1) Sit comfortably (posture not important; some of my best are lounging back on a sofa)
2) Smile
3) Get a sense of your body as a whole, so both its outline and its internal feelings as one
4) Say the word "am" in your mind, meaning "allowing whatever this thing is, this I-ness, this self, this existence, to be, exactly as it is right now"
5) When the am-feeling comes (quickly, hopefully), rest into it
6) Repeat.

The problem is you are separating out your experience into body parts, stories, concepts etc. when you instead need to unify it totally as an infinite Self resting in its own nature wherever it is.

Well, I didn't intentionally create any stories, etc... I just had a spontanious moment that seemed to solve the problem at hand.

However I'll give this a go and post the results

I tried it for a bit, the "I" feeling would switch between my throat and my naval... shortly after the meditation I've come down sick so haven't done much more outside of that.

The I-feeling is amorphous and identifies with various sensations, thought processes, emotions, and body areas. Gently allow this. Retrigger it via "I" or "am" (as preferred) and there is a "Russian doll" effect whereby it identifies with broader levels of experience. Occasionally it will identify with "everything at once" which brings a deep bliss (and often eye-tearing for me). In that moment there is a sense of oneness. However, grabbing for it disperses it. The trick is not to fight it but just to do the meditation regularly so that "awareness identifies with itself" more often (it will increase in occurrence the more you practise). But good things seem to happen with this meditation regardless of what awareness is identifying with (a.k.a. the perceived quality of your practice at any given time).

I did the "I am" last night before going to bed, rather spontaneously.

I switched from "I am James" to "I am" and back and forth etc...

I woke up feeling incredibly grounded, the sensation during the mantra was located in the solar plexis.

Do you get flushing from that? I used to flush so bad it would feel like I was on fire. I never take it now.

I do - it makes a huge difference whether or not I eat with it... If I take it with a meal its mild, if I take it on an empty stomach I'll have a hard time.

So I was laying down last night, and just watching my breath...

my body entered a state of complete stillness, my breathing stopped and and I watched my last inhale evaporate as it traveled into my chest where my heart was, and I hit access concentration basically where my heart was, and it felt like I was just an observer in an empty spot in my chest cavity, the intentsity reminded me of coming up on LSD.

I decided not to pursue it any further because I didn't get any pleasent sensations.

When practising Awareness Watching Awareness my awareness will settle in a spot on the left of my heart.

However, Ramana Maharshi says the true heart centre is on the right: https://hridaya-yoga.com/sayings-of-mystics/ramana-maharshi-the-heart-center/

Quote
Ramana Maharshi shares his experience of (temporarily) dying, in which he had a direct understanding of the location of the Heart Center:

I had been saying all along that the Heart centre was on the right, notwithstanding the refutation by some learned men that physiology taught them otherwise. I speak from experience. I knew it even in my home during my trances. Again during the incident related in the book Self-Realisation I had a very clear vision and experience. All of a sudden a light came from one side erasing the world vision in its course until it spread all round when the vision of the world was completely cut out. I felt the muscular organ on the left had stopped work; I could understand that the body was like a corpse, that the circulation of blood had stopped and the body became blue and motionless. Vasudeva Sastri embraced the body, wept over my death, but I could not speak. All the time I was feeling that the Heart centre on the right was working as well as ever. This state continued 15 or 20 minutes. Then suddenly something shot out from the right to the left resembling a rocket bursting in air. The blood circulation was resumed and normal condition restored. I then asked Vasudeva Sastri to move along with me and we reached our residence.

I decided not to pursue it any further because I didn't get any pleasent sensations.

How long did you stay with it? It can take several minutes for pleasure to arise, and that goes for any meditation.
